Art Aquarium 2019 Nihonbashi

ECO EDO NIHONBASHI Art Aquarium 2019 at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo. Until Sep 23, 2019. This special exhibition is featuring mixture of aquarium and digital art, held annually as summer event for Japanese people to get cool air. Goldfish bowls have been enjoyed at home to get cool feeling during hot humid summer in Japan. This is very modern art version of goldfish bowls in a larger scale. Fantastic to experience! This year’s exhibitions will be the last one in this venue. The next year’s venue is not decided yet.

Rose Festival twice a year at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens Spring Rose Festival at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens, Kita ward, Tokyo is held until June 2, 2019. The different kinds of roses can be enjoyed until the end of June. We enjoyed the beautiful roses in full bloom. My guests were so delighted, saying “so instagrammable!!” and took many photos. Enjoy Japanese-style Garden along with roses Western house. Kyu-Furukawa Gardens is famous for its roses and standby Western-style brick house designed by Josiah Condor, a British architect who contributed to Western architecture in Japan during the Meiji to Taisho period. Grand Sumo at Kokugikan Sumo Stadium Sumo is a national sport of Japan, originated in Shintoism which is indigenous to Japan. Thus, Sumo still retains big influence from Shinto rituals, such as throwing salt before each match and stomping on the ground to drive evil spirits away. Grand Sumo is the biggest Sumo tournament by professional Sumo wrestlers. Grand Sumo has 6 tournaments throughout Japan, each has 15 days. 3 of them are held at Kokugikan Sumo Stadium, here in Ryogoku, Tokyo. Watching Sumo matches at the stadium is beyond your imagination.  Yushima Tenmangu shrine & Plum Festival

Yushima Tenmangu is commonly called Yushima Ten-jin. “Ten-jin” means God of Thunder. This shrine is famous for God of Academics, attracting many students who pray for passing the entrance examinations. It is believed that any part of bull statue which people touched will be cured. So many touch its head.  Enshrines a first actual person to be worshipped as a deity. Yushima-Tenmangu enshrines Sugawara no Michizane.  He is a historical figure who was a talented scholar serving for the Emperor in the middle Heian period (794 AD–1185 AD). Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum(江戸東京たてもの園 Edo-Tokyo Tatemono-en)is located in Koganei park in Koganei-city, Tokyo. Although it’s not very center of Tokyo, it’s not too difficult to visit because the nearest station is just 20 minutes from Shinjuku station. Exhibition of reconstructed valuable historical building This is a very unique open-air museum which shows many old valuable Japanese buildings in its seven-hectare park area. There are 30 buildings and the others exhibited at present.
