Rose Festival twice a year at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens Spring Rose Festival at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens, Kita ward, Tokyo is held until June 2, 2019. The different kinds of roses can be enjoyed until the end of June. We enjoyed the beautiful roses in full bloom. My guests were so delighted, saying “so instagrammable!!” and took many photos. Sanja Matsuri, or Sanja Festival is annual Asakusa festival held in the third weekends of May. One of the biggest festivals in Tokyo. 

Sanja Matsuri, or Sanja Festival is annual Asakusa festival held in the third weekends of May. One of the biggest festivals in Tokyo.   People wearing Happi coats carry portable shrines through the streets to bring the Gods’ blessing to the whole local area. Each group has their own portable shrine and their own Happi, tightens togetherness.   The most major three portable shrines belong to Asakusa Shrine. “Sanja” means three shrines, representing three people found a statue of Buddha in the 7th century. The iconic Kaminarimon Gate, or Thunder Gate of Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa was folded for Sanja Matsuri, Sanja Festival on last weekends.

The iconic Kaminarimon Gate, or Thunder Gate of Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa was folded for Sanja Matsuri, Sanja Festival on last weekends.  It is rare to see to be folded. Only when the festival or very bad storm, it is folded. Nyanto Exhibit at Hyakudan-Kaidan in Meguro-Gajoen-Hotel is being held until May 13th.  All arts are associated with cats. Ukiyo-e paintings, beckoning cats and other cultural assets can be enjoyed. If you like cats, it’ll give you good healing. Hanamoto-Kaido is well-known for its beautiful ornamental peach blossoms. Peach trees which have three colored flower petal with crimson, pink and pure white are impressive. 4km path along the river with 5000 peach trees.  Peach festival 2018 was April 18 to May 6th. 🎏 🎏 🎏 Koi-Nobori”, carp shaped streamers swimming in the blue sky.  They are raised to cerebrate Children’s Day on May 5th. It comes from the Chinese legend that a carp swimming upstream finally turned to a dragon after he overcame the waterfall. The families with boys raise the carp streamers on the pole outside their houses around May 5th to pray for boys’ healthy growth.  Some regions held big Koi-Nobori Festivals with numerous streamers.
